Composition of Membership of Senate

Since its establishment, the Okanagan Senate has made five adjustments to its composition.

  • The addition of the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies be added ex officio to the permanent membership of Senate, as allowed by Section 35.1 (3) (J) of the University Act at its meeting of 5 December 2005.
  • The appointment of Dr. Russell Currie as a faculty representative from the Faculty of Management until such time as the Faculty of Management elects permanent representatives to Senate, or 1 September 2007, whichever is earlier at its meeting of 5 December 2005.
  • The addition of two faculty members under Section 35.1 (3) (g) to be elected from the Joint Faculties, and one student under Section 35.1 (3) (h) to be elected by the student body at-large at its meeting of 21 March 2006.
  • The addition of two faculty members under Section 35.1 (3) (g) to be elected from the Joint Faculties, and one student under Section 35.1 (3) (h) to be elected by the student body at-large at its meeting of 7 March 2007.
  • The addition of the Associate Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, Academic and Research to the permanent membership of Senate, as allowed by Section 35.1 (3) (J) of the University Act at its meeting of 7 March 2007. The title of the Associate Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, Academic and Research was amended to Provost at its meeting of 19 December 2007.
